Chef Sam's Baked Proveleta with Herbs & Coriander

6oz Wheel of Provolone Cheese

Herb Mix

  • 1/3 tsp dried rosemary, ground
  • 1/3 tsp fennel seeds, ground
  • 1/3 tsp dried savory
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried marjoram
  • 1 tsp dried lavender
  • 1/3 tsp drived oregano
  • 1 tsp dried tarragon
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp dried crushed red pepper *optional
  • 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to the broiler setting
  • In a small bowl, combine all dried herbs together and mix well
  • Place the wheel of provolone into a mall cast iron skillet or ramekin
  • Sprinkle 2 Tbsp of herb mixture over the cheese
  • Drizzle 1 tsp Olive oil over the cheese
  • Place the skillet on the bottom rack of the oven
  • Bake the cheese for 5 minutes or until melted and the edges become brown and crispy
  • Serve immediately
  • *Save additional herb mixture for a future use.
  • Serve with your favorite Rustic Bakery flatbread or Artisan Crisps or baguette
