Chef Sam's Baked Proveleta with Herbs & Coriander
6oz Wheel of Provolone Cheese
Herb Mix
- 1/3 tsp dried rosemary, ground
- 1/3 tsp fennel seeds, ground
- 1/3 tsp dried savory
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried marjoram
- 1 tsp dried lavender
- 1/3 tsp drived oregano
- 1 tsp dried tarragon
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1/2 tsp dried crushed red pepper *optional
- 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to the broiler setting
- In a small bowl, combine all dried herbs together and mix well
- Place the wheel of provolone into a mall cast iron skillet or ramekin
- Sprinkle 2 Tbsp of herb mixture over the cheese
- Drizzle 1 tsp Olive oil over the cheese
- Place the skillet on the bottom rack of the oven
- Bake the cheese for 5 minutes or until melted and the edges become brown and crispy
- Serve immediately
- *Save additional herb mixture for a future use.
- Serve with your favorite Rustic Bakery flatbread or Artisan Crisps or baguette
